Jim Zorn - New Head Coach of the Redskins

The Washington Redskins has a great football tradition with loyal fans that are eagerly awaiting their return to greatness. Joe Gibbs, the Hall of Fame coach had taken them to the top, but it is time for a new coach to take over and hopefully take them back to the Super Bowl.

Replacing a head coach like Joe Gibbs was not an easy task, but with the tradition of the Redskins there were plenty of coaches that would of loved the opportunity to try. After a 32 day search, the Redskins decided and announced Jim Zorn as their new head coach. Jim Zorn is a veteran coach; but maybe just as important is the fact he was also a NFL quarterback himself. He is one of only eight players in the Seattle Seahawks Ring of Honor.

Having been a football player himself for so many years should help Zorn relate to what the players are experiencing at training camp and beyond, and should help the players and coaches bond together as a team with a mission to accomplish. Only time will tell how Jim Zorn fares as the head coach in Washington. The town is behind him, the fans are very loyal, and he has the experience and qualifications to become a great head coach. The Redskins opened training camp sooner than any other team in the NFL. This could be an indication that they have lofty goals to accomplish this year.

The Washington Redskins are ready to start a new season with a new head coach at the helm and you can be assured that the owner, the coaches, the players, and especially the fans are looking forward to a great season.
