Off the Ice for the Washington Capitals

The Washington Capitals Hockey team ended the 08 season with a huge success. One would think that with that kind of playing, they would all be ready to take a vacation, spend time with their family, or just enjoy not having to get up every day and hit the ice. However, that's not the case with the Washington Capital Hockey players. Most of them are spending their off-season time at Hockey Camps and Off-Ice training centers.

In many of the training centers, they offer a variety of options, such as different animated drills, weightlifting to strengthen muscles, on and off the ice training, as well as interaction with different coaches for advice on what may help them the most. The Hockey player himself decides what his workouts will consist of and makes changes as he needs to. Even though they are off the ice, players must still keep working out to maintain and improve their skills and strength. If they work hard, they may even eliminate some of the weaknesses they were plagued with in the past season.

Of course, each player still tries to take some time to be with their family. There is always a certain amount of time each week that is set aside for them to work out. All of this hard work training even in the "Off the Ice" season is what makes the Washington Capital Hockey Team stay on top of their game! It is said often in sports that it is all work and no play, and one would not believe otherwise after studying the off-season habits of this team.
