Is Antawn Jamison a Washington Wizard Star?

Antawn Cortez Jamison, a native of Shrevesport, Louisiana was born on June 12, 1976. Despite many disappointments during his rookie year with the NBA, he is now a star player for a team who ranked top five in the league this season.

In 1998, Antawn decided to end his college career with the University of North Carolina and enter the NBA draft. At this time he was selected by the Toronto Raptors who dealt his rights to the Golden State Warriors. Five years later he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks. After a year with the Mavericks he was traded once again, this time to the Washington Wizards. This summer, there was a brief period of wondering would he become an unrestricted free agent or lock in once again with the Wizards.

Standing 6' 9", weighing 235 lbs, donning Jersey #4, he now stars as a Small Forward/Power Forward. Needless to say, with fantastic stats such as 20.5 points, 9.3 rebounds, 1.8 threes and 1.1 steals on 44.2 percent shooting from the field and 73.1 percent from on the line, the Wizards are glad of Jamison's decision to re-sign his contract for another four years. While defense is not his strongest asset, he more than makes up for it with his range, ability and speed. Jamison, along with franchise player Gilbert Arenas and Caron Butler make up a trio which boosts the team's confidence in winning a title next season.

On a personal note, Antawn had a playground built near his hometown of Shreveport and has launched a campaign called "A Better Tomorrow." This is just one of his ways of giving back to his community and helping those who are less fortunate. Therefore, not only does he shine on the basketball court, but is known as a "Good Guy" in community events!

Is Antawn Jamison a Washington Wizard Star? Yes he is.
