The Washington Redskins are one of several teams that have won the Super Bowl more than once. Lets get to know a little about this team that is from our Nations capital.

The Washington Redskins have played over one thousand games and has won 5 AFL championships, 10 divisional titles and 3 Super Bowls. They also had their bad times. From 1946 to 1970 they didn't play in one playoff game, but through it all the Redskins are the second most valuable franchise in the NFL behind the Dallas Cowboys.

Speaking of the Cowboys, these two teams have a great rivalry between each other. They are in the same division and have faced each other 96 times with Dallas leading the series with 56 wins. The last time these 2 teams met, the Redskins won 27-6. The last time they met in the playoffs was 1983 with the Redskins winning 31-17. They have made 13 Super Bowl appearances between them and they each has won 5 NFL Championships. This rivalry will always be one of the best in the game.

One of the Super Bowl games was Super Bowl XVII where the Redskins scored 17 unanswered points in the second half to defeat the Miami Dolphins 27-17. The Redskins defense shut down the Dolphins and ran all over them. John Riggins gained 166 yards, the most ever in the Super Bowl and was named the games MVP.

The Washington Redskins have always played the game of football with style and class and is a great franchise to play for.
