The Washington Nationals is a professional baseball team that originated in Montreal, Quebec in 1969. The team was known as Montreal Expos and was the first league team in Canada. The city made a recommendation that the Major League Baseball be responsible, but they were not willing to do so. The city would cap $611 million and the Major League Baseball would agree to $20 million.
