Washington Redskins: News from the Front
The Washington Redskins preseason started off well when they trampled the Indianapolis Colts underfoot by a score of 30-16 in the annual Hall of Fame Game on Sunday, August 3rd. It turned out to be a three day celebration that included the induction of several Redskins into the hall of Fame. With the preseason lineup now final, Skins fans are looking forward to an exciting season. The next game is scheduled for Saturday, August 9th with the Redskin facing off against the Buffalo Bills.
Redskin tackles Stephen Heyer and Todd Wade were both injured during the Colts game, and are expected to be out at least two weeks. After the early loss of key players Alex Buzbee and Phillip Daniels, the Redskins hustled to replace their defensive end with Jason Taylor, a seasoned potential Hall of Famer. James Thrash has also proven to be quite talented, ending up, as it were, before other skilled wide receivers on the depth chart. With Shawn Springs, Chris Horton, and Rock Cartwright missing practice due to injuries and illness, there seems to be no end in sight to the Skins' list of woes. While some players are hurting, others are healing and the team readies itself for the season of a lifetime.
