With the death of Sean Taylor in 2006, it was known as one of the most emotional seasons that the team had ever faced. The 2007 season began with the posting of a 5 - 3 record. Two days after a Buccaneers game, Sean Taylor was shot in the upper leg by an intruder at his home while he was recovering from an injury. The shot severed his femoral artery. On November 27th at 3:30 am Taylor died in the hospital.
