Don Brashear's Playing History

Donald Brashear is a ice hockey player for the Washington Capitals. He played for three other teams before he signed with the Capitals. While playing a game in 2000, he was hit in the head by Marty McSorley and suffered memory lapses. He has said that he has had no memory of it, and said that Marty should not be allowed to play again because of poor sportsmanship.

Don has won the Pelle Lindbergh Memorial Trophy, which is an annual trophy given to the most improved player of the Flyers. He has also received the most penalties of any other player in one game and is known for his unfair tactics. He has been called "The Enforcer" and "The Basher" because of battles he has been in on the ice, and when he is in the game he is a force to be reckoned with. When he comes out on his skates he is very controlling and intimidating. It seems to come easy and natural to Don as he has a domineering presence when he is playing. His position is a rugged left winger and he also shoots left.

Don may not be the biggest scorer on his team, but he is there to intimidate the other team, and to give and receive all the hits.  Don is married and has two children. He is known to be very protective of his family.
